Lincoln Schools Closing Protocols
Lincoln School Closings Protocols
The winter season is upon us, we understand the importance of timely notification for families and staff in the event of school closings. We strive to decide in advance, whenever possible, to allow for adequate planning. However, in most cases, the decision may not be made until early morning, typically no later than 5:00 AM.
When inclement weather is in the forecast, members of Lincoln's Transportation Department actively monitor road conditions. Our district covers over 72 square miles, including several rural regions.
To ensure ample time for high school students who begin at 7:10 AM, we plan to notify all families no later than 5:30 AM. This will include automated phone calls, emails, and text messages to all Lincoln students and staff. We will also inform local radio and television stations in the Ann Arbor and Detroit areas. Additionally, we will update our district website (LincolnK12.org) and utilize social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Communicating with the Lincoln Community
For your convenience Lincoln posts school and athletic schedules, school board agendas/meeting minutes, dates for important events, and much more in a variety of formats.
